Why is Estrogen important?

Estrogen is present in both sexes. It is responsible for making the egg which came from your Mom and maturing the sperm which came from your Dad! Both Men and Women require Estrogen to be healthy. As a matter of fact, many of the men who first come to our practice have higher levels of Estrogen then the women!

Why is knowing my Estrogen balance important? 

As we age, our body shifts from making a young healthy form of estrogen called Estradiol and tends to favor the less body friendly Estrone type of estrogen. The more body fat we carry around, the more of this less beneficial estrogen we produce.

Why do I care how my Estrogen is being metabolized and excreted?

Once our Estrogen finishes its job within our body, it needs to be excreted, so that toxic metabolites do not build up, putting us at risk for serious diseases such as cancer. The metabolism of Estrogen depends on a cascade of chemical reactions that are regulated by enzymes in our bodies. When we look at the levels of Estrogen that we are producing, as well as what types of metabolites we are excreting in our urine, we can see which pathways need improvement for our health, well-being, and longevity. We can also see how well our gut is getting rid of our metabolites, or if they are just recirculating over and over like bad karma causing harm and increased cancer risk.

This is a workshop which can be completed at home and do not require a blood draw.

The evaluation requires a urine specimen collection. The kit will be shipped directly to you, with postage paid return envelope. There are in-depth instructions as well as a customer support line, should you require help.

Results are typically available in 1 to 2 weeks. Once the results of both tests are back, we will contact you via email to set up your consultation appointment. This will be done over telehealth consultation, we will go over the findings in those kits, discuss how these results apply to you specifically and address all abnormal findings. We will then make recommendations regarding supplements or additional testing or treatment that may be needed based on the findings.
